Frugal Challenge December 4-10

12/8-9

-Kept heat at 68. This was a challenge because the wind chill didn't get above 7* today.
-All meals at home both days.
-My car stayed home both days, DH had to work today but was home all day yesterday.
-Lights, TV, computer off as much as possible.
-Balanced checkbook and made budget for the next 2 and 4 weeks.
-Trying to think outside the box at least once a day. Today, we had tater tots with dinner. After DD was buckled in her booster, I opened the oven door and let the kitchen heat up while we ate. It made it quite warm in here (the coldest room in our house.)

i so blew this week! i went 100.00 over budget at walmart.

12/10 (for the week):

returned some dvd-r's because I found some less pretty ones that I could use instead (I'm burning a home-made holiday dvd for holiday gifts)

had a free coffee coupon on the back of our grocery receipt

cooked a big crockpot of chili for two lunches and dinners

didn't take my guys to get a holiday studio photo done -- made my own and ordered online instead (could have been cheaper if I'd just made prints and pasted them into cards, but I just LOVE to send out those cute holiday cards)

bundled up and kept the heat off as much as possible

tried to combine double coupons with marked down items

Things to work on next week:

[] pack lunch and coffee every day for dh!!
[] look into down blankets and space heaters -- where to get the best deal?
[] drop off donation to get free oil change voucher
