I need to go into Brandon tomorrow to get some groceries and while there, I'm picking up an excersise bike. Our Superstore is now selling excersise equipment and videos and seeing as I've put it off so long from getting a new one, I've decided its time. I love the biking and its so good for me because of the fibro. My doctor said it along with swimming is the best for anyone with fibromyalgia because you don't have any weight baring. I've really missed doing it on a regular basis.
I'm not sure which one I'm getting yet because they had 2 types last time I was there. I also plan on picking up an excersise video.
What type of excersise equipment do you have and if you do, do you use it on a regular basis?
Don't have any equipment - wait I take that back. I have a Nordic Trac in the closet upstairs that has almost never been used. I found it too be a bit hard on the joints. I keep it thinking one day........... I'll be able to use it.
I hope you find the perfect bike and really enjoy yourself. You definately deserve it!
I have an inclined treadmill that I hate. I used it for maybe a month and put it away in the storage shed. It is practically brand new. I prefer walking outdoors to walking on it.
What a waste of money.

I got it and dh set it all up. It tells me my pulse rate, how many calories I've burnt, how fast I'm going, how far I've done in kms and how long I've been on it.
I just did 3 miles and had it on 1. I can tell my other bike, although it was okay, sure didn't make me work like this one.
Tomorrow I want to do 4 miles on it and have my pulse rate at a steady rate for 10 minutes.

CJ I'm thrilled for you. You will love it, and it SURE helps the Canadian winter excercise program.
I don't like walking on ice, never feel steady somehow, running in cold weather gives me supreme asthma, and getting out with one vehicle to an excersize place is impossible on a regular basis. Ditto the pool, but that is worse due to coming out into ye Canadian climate with wet hair, to drive home!
Our elliptical exerciser gets good use, I stationed it in the living room, and all of us except dh use it, even ds when he comes home.
He got on board and did 20 minutes one day when he popped by for mail, while we visited in the living room, it's sort of comfy set up so that anyone can sit on the couch and comfortabley converse with the person on the elliptical.
AND you get a good view of the TV.
I'm still finding it hard to do more than a few minutes at a time, but added up it works into my day beautifully. (commercial breaks, stopping into the living room to talk with George, passing by, step on a bit)
I've noticed that is the kind of useage that dd gives it too. In spare bites of time. I think having it in the main living area where we all hang out helps a lot along with having it positioned for comfortable TV viewing or conversation. It's like a ride'em armchair that uses calories.
I have the weights set down in ds's old bedroom, (main floor, opposite ours) but since my bleeding episode, I've been avoiding it till I'm "fixed". I'm the main user, but ds comes in and does stuff when he pops in for a visit and dh occaisionally.
