Help with Pectin for grape jelly recipe..
I want to make this for my son jelly. The problem is that I bought a box of "no sugar needed fruit pectin" and this recipe calls for 'pectin' probably the original kind where you need the sugar for thickening purposes.. The recipe calls for 4 cups of sugar. Do you think I could use 1/2C-1C? I don't want it too sweet. But I don't want to waste the pectin either!

I don't know why it did that.
Ok, so the above message is supposed to say (and have a website link but apparently can't do that)
I want to make grape jelly for my son. The recipe calls for
3 cups grape juice
1 package powdered pectin
4 cups sugar
The problem is that I bought "no sugar needed fruit pectin"
I read that the no sugar added doesn't need sugar. Would it be ok to only use 1/2C-1C. It's for my son and I don't want that much sugar.

sure you have already made your Jelly but wanted to let you know you can make Jelly without pectin. I do 6 cups berries (or any fruit) to 3 cups of sugar. You have to cook it longer 45 min or more, but it will jell up on its own and is cheaper!

Read the directions because I think it tells you right in there to use the exact sugar measurement.
