    Default DIY furniture polish

My kitchen cabinets are old, old, old, and look their age, so I didn't mind experimenting on them.

I tried a "recipe" for furniture polish that is 1 part white vinegar to 4 parts olive oil. I made up a very small batch of 1/4 c. of oil and 2 T. vinegar.

You can keep this in a sealed glass jar or in a spray bottle. I put it in a jar.

I dabbed a clean, soft cloth into the mixture, then rubbed it into my cabinets. Half an hour later, I took a picture. The cabinet door on the right side is "polished" and the cabinet door on the left is not. Not sure how good the photo is (camera phone), but the difference is marked. The polished door looks glossy and lustrous, and used only a small amount of the polish that I made.
