Homemade Silly Putty
Homade Silly putty Mix in a bowl:
3/4 cup water
1 cup glue (such as Elmer's)
Dissolve in separate bowl:
1 cup water

Add both mixtures together and add food coloring if desired. You get a great shiny plastic-like silly putty that is really fun!Store in plastic bag in refrigerator.

I have a different recipe for silly putty:
one regular sized bottle school glue. pour into a bowl of liquid starch. mix well, discard excess starch. you can add coloring to the glue before pouring it into the starch if you like; a drop or two will do.
I believe i got this off of the tv.
have fun. I havent tried this recipe, but if you try it, let me know how it works.
I have made a product from a pbs show, called Kid Concoctions...product is called Ooey Gooey Gunk, that sounds just about like the recipe kathy gave us. Only difference in my recipe is more borax...4t instead of 1. and in the first half of the recipe 1 c cold water instead of 3/4 c. Maybe it is a similar product in the end. I know the kids love this stuff. You can add glitter to this stuff if you like. I let the kids have it in plastic baggies they can take tot he table to play with.
