Potter's Clay
Potter's Clay
2 cups baking soda
1 cup cornstarch
1 1/4 cups cold water
food coloring, optional
Mix all ingredients in a saucepan and stir until smooth. Being the mixture to a boil; continue boiling mixture for 1 minute until the clay is the consistency of mashed potatoes. Pour into a tray and cover with a damp cloth until cooled. Knead lightly (add a few drops of food coloring, if desired). Mold into shapes or roll out on wax paper and cut with cookie cutters. When dry, it can be painted. Use clay immediately or store, wrapped, in an airtight container in the refrigerator. Warm to room temperature before using again.
