    Lightbulb Homemade carpet freshener

Combine ¼ c. talcum powder with your favorite scent (as much scent as you want), ¾ c. baking soda, and 2 T. cornstarch. Mix all together (I mixed mine in a frugal shaking jar...a canning jar with lid and ring with holes punched in the lid via screwdriver and hammer), sprinkle over carpet, let sit for 15 minutes, vacuum, and enjoy.

I used buttercream scent. Mmmmmmmm. The house smells like I've been baking all day.

Does the scent have to be a powder.I figure it should be since you sprinkle it.where do you get your scents. This would be great for us since everytime I vaccum it smells like our dog.LOL

No, actually mine's a liquid. I got it as part of a free sample from some candle/soap company a while back (dont' remember the name, sorry). I mixed it with the talcum powder, then poured everything together and shook it real good. Works fine.
