Question How do you make bug spray?

I heard that you can make an insect repellant that is safe for small children. I have a 3 month old baby and we plan on doing some camping this summer. I think mouth wash is one of the ingredients. Has anyone heard of this?

I don't make bug spray but, I use Avon's Skin So Soft on my granddaughters. It seems to work really well without all the harsh chemicals.

Skin so Soft IS good.....I know hunters that used to buy it from me when I sold Avon....and it practically saved one of my best friends life! She has horses and was getting eaten alive by flies and other nasty things....and shes one of those people who reacts very strongly to insect bites..she would swell and itch and was just miserable.....she started using Skin so Soft......and it made a WORLD of difference!!now she buys it in bulk!..LOL

however...if you want to make your own....get lemongrass oil....or citronella oil both are great mosquito repellants...I would dilute it in witch hazel....also lemon tea tree oil I understand works well..Ive never tried that one....you also could dilute the essential oil in a base of jojoba oil.....just wipe it on babies skin with a cotton ball...or use as a baby massage.....keep her bug free and moisturize her new lil skin all at once!

    hope this help!

I ended up tucking 1/2 a dryer sheet in her drawers so part of it was sticking out. I never saw a bug on her!
