Default Rose water, lavender water, etc...

I was roaming around the site...am new here...would ya'll like my cheapo recipe for floral waters?(as in rose water, etc)

    You'll need :
a good sized Dutch Oven or Stock Pot
a gallon of rose petals, or lavender or honeysuckle bloom
enough spring water or rain water to cover blossoms/petals in pot
    a 2 quart pyrex bowl
a brick or piece of one big enough for pyrex bowl to set upon (yes a BRICK!)

Set brick in bottom of pot, add petals...all of them, enough water to just cover. Set Pyrex bowl on brick.
PUT LID ON POT UPSIDE DOWN(thats important, heh)
Turn stove on very low...just enough so the water will barely simmer and make steam.
I put the lid on upside down so the steam will condense and the water will drip into the pyrex bowl.

When your *water* is done, add 1 teaspoon of high-proof vodka to each pint.
Store in tightly sealed jars or bottles.

You can also add handfuls of fresh or dried herbs to the mix before steaming...

I make a lavender linen spray, a citrus room deodorizer spray, rosemary, pyrthrum (sp?), peppermint insect repellent (add a slice or two of orange for scent if you want)
