I made the switch to vinegar a month or so ago. I love it as a shower spray. It just melts soap scum right off! I was a little put off by the strong vinegar smell at first. I mean I'd spray the shower, wipe the potty, polish the mirror then go to the kitchen and do the counters, floors, etc.. my whole house smelled like a pickle factory. Granted, it was better than bleach fumes, but not a pleasent scent. I am a EO hord and I didn't want to use them all up in my cleaning stuff so I came up with another solution. I got a packet of CLEAR kool-aid mix and put it in my spray bottle. It works great. My vinegar has a nice fruity smell to it and I haven't noticed any sort of residue from the kool-aid at all.

Thank you for the great ideas. I've used boiling vinegar and baking soda for years to clean drains and it works great. The first time I tried it, it bubbled and boiled all kinds of gunk into the sink and I thought I had backed the pipes up then about 30 seconds later it just swooshed it all right down the drain. Our drains ran so much better after that. I use it every couple of months or so in both the kitchen and bathroom to keep them clear.
