    Default Homemade Dishwashing Soap using Lye Soap?

    Does any one have a recipe for this... i would hate to have to make a batch of castile soap to make dishwashing soap Takes HOURS not to mention olive oil is expensive anymore.

    make it out of used grease, like in the old days. use french fry grease soap works but smells, well, like used french fry grease.
    I think the cost of the lye and labor would be more than the cost of a bottle of sodium lauryl sulfate detergent, no savings at all, frankly.
    11% gross to retirement
    10% takehome to tithe and offerings
    emergency fund maintained at 3000(works for me)
    credit card debt 7500
    mortgage free
    freedom accounts/sinking funds that ebb and flow
    then live on the rest!

    i am trying something new. LDS church advises savings or debt repayment should be the same as the tithe. 10% each.

    i have, in the past made it out of clean liquid vegetable oil, lye in excess.
    11% gross to retirement
    10% takehome to tithe and offerings

    I already have Lye soap.. since i sell it... i am just trying to find a recipe i could use it in to make dish detergent for myself.

    have you tried making a potassium hydroxide based soap? like Dr. Bronners?
