My personal grocery shopping - results
I decided that the time had come to see what I was made of... so to speak... and see what creative, healthy and frugal meals I could make.
I planned a weekly menu and shopped accordingly. I had a decent stockpile to begin with which had plenty of veggies, rices and spices.
Total spent on shopping - $46.54 for a family of 3 for 7 DAYS and 1 extra dinner!!!
Friday dinner - nacho squares and veggies
Saturday lunch - eggplant parm.
Saturday dinner - Budgetville meatloaf, mashed potatoes and veggies
Sunday brunch - scrambled eggs, bacon, biscuits
Sunday dinner - pizza casserole and veggies
Monday lunch - leftover pizza casserole
Monday dinner - rice skillet
Tuesday lunch - Mexican meatballs
Tuesday dinner - beef with broccoli and rice
Wednesday lunch - leftover beef and broccoli
Wednesday dinner - meatball stroganoff and veggies
Thursday lunch - leftover stroganoff
Thursday dinner - sweet mustard roast, mashed potatoes and veggies
Friday lunch - leftover roast (Diva)
Friday dinner - leftover roast (Old Man)
Breakfast was cereal, oatmeal or eggs (Old Man does have breakfast sandwiches 4x week and was included in the grocery total)
Drinks were coffee, tea, milk, ice tea and lemonade
Snacks were homemade granola bars, air popped popcorn and peanut butter crackers.
Fruit - apples and bananas
Old Mans workweek lunches - not included in total because he pays for them out of his personal money -- his choice.
Was is the most elaborate? No - but no one felt hungry and there was plenty of fruits and veggies.
I can't be out of money... I still have checks left!
