If you check out the "bring your lunch to work" challenge, it could help you get some ideas as what to bring. Most of mine are leftovers or a can of soup with a can of fruit.

I just don't buy junk food. That might be easier said than done for someone with children, though. The only junk in the house is potato chips for BF's lunches, but I actually am quite good about staying away from them. Lunch for me usually consists of nonfat yogurt or low fat cheese, a whole wheat bread of some kind with dijon and tuna or ham, or PB& honey. Then throughout the day I munch on carrot sticks, oranges, celery, apples, melon, pineapple, etc. I'm a grazer so I never eat very much at one time, just a little bit ALL of the time.

I eat whatever is in the fridge. If it's leftovers, I eat those. If there's no good leftovers, I make a sandwich and have something to drink.
I have made things out of leftovers that are awesome lunches. I make meals for the kids when they're home. I try to give them milk, a piece of fruit and whatever else I can (whether it be eggs, oatmeal, etc.).Wife to DH since 10/31/2002!

Often, we eat leftovers or make a soup w/sammy. My dad loves to make wonton soup w/noodles or pan fried potstickers.
If I'm fending for myself and don't feel like making the above or have no leftovers, I tend to grab & go if staying in so its something light...veggies, soup and tiny tin flavoured tuna w/crackers or cheese w/crackers.2012: The Year Of The Purge!

I work and pack a lunch, although I keep a couple healthy=ish frozen entrees in the freezer at work for those days that I don't manage. I have been known to cook potatoes to make potato salad for lunch (sweet potatoes for at least half it), or shred cabbage for coleslaw, or bake some fish, or whatever. Generally try to get that startd and then jump into the shower. Seems to work out ok. Hubby does not work, but will always eat junk or high sodium if I don't leave him lunch and sometimes if I do. He's supposed to be on a very low sodium diet, but is struggling with it - and unless I cook most of our food from scratch, he will greatly exceed his allowance.
Always try to have one or two pieces of fruit and some veggies in my lunch. Hummus is good. Yogurt is good. Wraps are fun. Or I pack leftovers.
I try to have fresh fruit always available at home - apples, bananas, cut up canteloupe, grapes. I know these will be eaten.

I've been premaking veggie burgers for my lunch and egg/veggie sausage on a muffin for my breakfasts. It has really helped me grab and go when I'm rushed or let me come home to something easy to prepare. I'll probably continue doing it for a while and it is worth the prep time since I go assembly line style.

I don't work and my lunches vary from not eating at all or having a handful of little pretzels or a bowl of Special K Strawberry cereal or heating a Smart Ones or a Lean Cuisine in the microwave. I don't like leftovers much unless it's some homemade soups that I make like mini meatball soup. Yum! I make and send bento boxes full of goodies for my dh and sons. Dh loves his packed lunches!

I work in a high school cafeteria. I get to eat what is served that day. To me most of it is JUNK so I usually eat salad and the fruit of the day. The cook puts to much fat in the veggies for me so I don't eat them very often.
During the summer I will be home by myself this year so I will probably eat something quick or leftovers.Debra

Lunch for me sometimes depends on what is in the fridge. I like:
cottage cheese
yogurt
tunafish
eggsalad or hard boiled eggs
veggie burgers
the occasional frozen dinner-I check for the lowest sodium
fruit and veggies
Today I am going to SAMS for lunch because my dd has a half day and I might get a fruit and yogurt parfait or wait until I get home. Depends on how hungry I am. There are great cookie and snack food recipes that have fruits and veggie's in them. Check out Jessica Seinfeld's cookbook or Bettheny Frankel's.
