Need ideas: Self-prepared meals for vacation?

I would never ever use a hotel room coffee maker.

Reason 1-they are not cleaned regularly. Reason 2-they can be used to make meth. (Lots of meth gets made in hotels. Hubby has busted 3 hotel meth labs in the fast few months). Think twice before using hotel room coffee pots - WAFF.com: North Alabama News, Radar, Weather, Sports and Jobs- It's easily noticeable, but still eeks me out. Reason 3-a friend of mine tells me that airline stewardesses use them to wash their underpants. She saw it on some dateline-type special. SCARY. All those combined make me very leary.

Thanks very much for sharing this information - I had wondered about #1 but had no idea about #'s 2 and 3! Agreed....very scary!! We have a $4 coffee pot from Walgreen's that we take along with us to Vegas, and now it will be going EVERYWHERE. It's a miniature one; I think the full size ones can be picked up as low as $10.

Is that why the airline stewardesses are always so perky and cheerful - they have meth in their panties?

To the OP - have you looked into camping to save on lodging?

How about using a grill at a public park?

Why not plug your crockpot in in your vehicle? Our van has multiple "outlets" and we got an outlet converter plug at Target for $5. My dad doesn't like my mom to leave the crockpot running when they are gone so she brings her crockpot in her car & plugs it in.
