Default Weekly Menu: Mar. 6 :)

I spent a small fortune on food last week and gained about 500 pounds because I just moved. My kitchen is now unpacked and I'm going to get serious about menu planning again!

Sunday: Vegetarian Split Pea Soup, homemade bread (just me)
    Monday: Same as Sunday
Tuesday: Honey Garlic Broccoli w/ Brown Rice
    Wednesday: BBQ Veggie Pizza
    Thursday: Leftovers
    Friday: Cheese Lasagna

For work lunches, if there are no leftovers, I'm taking soup from a can.

This weekend I'm prepping by making baked brown rice and the soup. All I need from the store this week is some onions, potatoes, mushrooms, bbq sauce and whatever fruit is reasonably priced (probably apples).

    Back in the saddle!

    Smile Menu planning...

Hi I'm Nancy and I'm new here and this is my first post.
I go about my menu planning a little differently because I like to plan out enough dinner menus for an entire month at one time and then pick and choose from the list at the beginning of each week. I also grocery shop a bit differently, doing one really large shopping trip at the beginning of the month (after finalizing menus) then another small one mid month to replenish fresh produce and milk if we need to.
That said, my menu plans for this week are:

Sunday 3/6: Spaghetti w/ homemade sauce and meatballs, salad w/ dressings, garlic bread
Monday 3/7: Mom's One Pot dinner, homemade rye rolls
Tuesday 3/8: Chicken creole, steamed rice, salad
Wednesday 3/9: Mom's Baked Macaroni & Cheese, Salmon patties, green beans w/ almonds
Thursday 3/10: Irish garlic sausages, mashed potatoes, creole cabbage
Friday: working at school's fish fry, family will eat there w/ me
Saturday: going to a reverse raffle, kids will have homemade pizza

I normally do 30 day menus and choose from the list everyday, but we are moving this summer and traveling a lot, so I am trying to use up what's in my pantry.

Sunday, Spaghetti, steamed broccoli, garlic bread.
    Monday, Sheppards Pie
    Tuesday, Tacos
    Wednesday, we eat at Church
Thursday, something with bacon, probably bacon and eggs.

Need to go through and try to make a list of meals from my pantry and start using the stockpile.

    ^scratch that...we have a mortgage now.

Dh just reminded me that Lent begins this week. I'll need to juggle to ensure no meat on Wednesday and Friday.
