I have a list of things that I can do around the house to catch up on cleaning.... so I hang out on FV, chat with friends, and scrabble to avoid doing them.

Floyd, I miss your posts!
Hi Floyd! Are you still around FV? How is the $15 a week grocery challenge going? Have you got the car paid off yet and the down payment saved for a house?
As I tighten our budget, your thrifty food ideas came to mind. I am sure that I am not the only one here on FV that is wondering how you are doing?

Hi auntie2many! Yes, I am still around. I have almost paid off my car (one more payment to go). I am still (loosely) following the $15 per week grocery challenge. I am not cooking at home a lot anymore as a lot of my mystery shopping assignments take me to fast food restaurants. So I am hardly ever spending my own money on food anymore. I tend to save half of my dinner for lunch so it all works out in the end. Although it's not the healthiest arrangement
.
Goal #1: Pay off that car!

Goal #2: Save house deposit

Car loan PAID OFF!
Just one month over schedule I am excited to share with you that I have PAID OFF MY CAR LOAN!

I will now be focusing on my next goal - saving for a house deposit. I suspect $60,000 will be a bit of a stretch but, as T.S.Eliot so aptly said,
Only those who risk going too far can possibly find out how far they can go.
So wish me luck!

I love this idea. Right now my DH is doing the mean green juice fast. This means lots of fruits n vegs and of course its' dead of winter here. If I can get by very cheaply its' not so bad. Can't wait to see your progress.
