okay, here is my take on this, I am married to a very picky eater. However, I will say that he is good about lower cost items than most. The only real thing that he is unbendable about is cheese slices. As long as it is a real cheese slice (no imitation, and not a cheese spread) he doesn't care what brand it is. He will generic on just about anything. I am actually trying to think of anything in our pantry and fridge that is "brand" name simply because that is all he will eat. And the only thing that I can think of is actually mine, and that is my coffee . I do a mix of Folgers med-dark roast and Community Coffee Newe Orleans Blend (which I have a friend that is from Louisiana, and when he goes home to visit, I give him money to buy it for me to stock up) way cheaper than ordering it off line wich is my other option anyway. Hubby will only eat, meat, rice, white pasta, potatoes and corn. Not a very large selection. But there are a lot off different things that I have learned to do with this over the last 25 yrs. if you put your mind to it you can come of with alot of different combinations.

When making the turkey meatloaf or chicken breast how about making enough to have leftovers. The meatloaf can be broken up and add some sauce to it to make tacos. You can shred the chicken breast and add sauce to make tacos also. Any leftover meat sauce you can make nachos with.

When shopping for meat ask you meat department when they put the manager's specials out. Then keep an eye out for any manager's special and stock up. With it being holiday season around the corner I would try stocking up on turkey. Many times they will have turkey breast or legs on sale. You can try cooking up a turkey breast just as you would the chicken breast. I would cook up the turkey breast as breaded cutlets and not even tell your husband it is turkey. He may not notice.

Try changing things a little at a time. Sounds as if he is to set in has ways and used to getting what he wants. If he puts up a fuss let him know that YOU like a change once in a while. I am sure there are other foods he can tolerate to it.
