Default How often do you eat meat/fish?

Just curious We eat it about 3x/month (twice when we eat at my in-laws' house usually - one of which is usually fish, and I usually make it one other time as well, usually chicken).

When I was growing up, we had meat almost every night. Times sure have changed!

Have been cutting back on meat consumption over last couple years. Used to be a meal wasn't really a meal unless it had meat/fish/eggs. Nowadays, we might eat meat once during the day, but no more than 3-4 times a week. I don't usually miss it - but get "steak cravings" once in a while.

We have meat every day. DH has issues with low iron and beef helps. I mix it up with lean proteins like fish and chicken.

Vegan. Never eat meat or fish.

But I did make some bacon dog biscuits the other day. Just nibbled one of them to see how it tasted (if I could actually taste the bacon flavor [I'd added an entire pound of bacon so I hoped it would taste really bacony for my Penny.]) First time I've tasted bacon in nearly 9 years.

Anyway, I was surprised how it really didn't taste much different then the fake bacon products I've been eating all these years...

We used to eat a lot less meat. But, with my going to school and turning over dinner duty to the boys, we have been having more meat/potatoes/veggie meals because it is easy for them to cook.

Meat, fish or chicken for at least one meal a day here. Dh used to insist on it. He is rethinking this and has given the okay to use less of it. Time to get creative!

Every single day at least twice. I follow a high protein/ no grain diet that has allowed me to get and stay off insulin and meds. I figure the extra protein is preferable to paying for the meds.

That is basically what we do. Our diets are high protein with less than 20 net carbohydrates a day. Although I am still on insulin, my usage has been cut in half since we altered our diets. And my insulin pump costs including meds, equipment, etc...averages $200/week so the extra cost for meats/proteins all balances outs for us.

There wasn't a category for 2-3 times a week but that's about how it plays out for us, so I picked not more than 4 x a week.

At dinner we often have pasta with marinara sauce, pizza (broccoli; or marinara sauce & mozzarella), omelets, soup.

In summer, dinner will be a big veggie salad or orange salad, both with chunks of Italian bread or cereal with sliced bananas.

Wow I am so glad it cut it in half for you! I was afraid when I posted I might get blasted for being a heavy meat eater. I have a few veg friends that have swore up and down I can stay of insulin with a vegetarian diet. NO I CAN'T since I can't process carbs effectively.

I figure it balances out also. For breakfast I have eggs so I didnt count that meal.
