    Default Menu Planning

I was wondering if anyone would be willing to share their menu plan for the month. I would love to find out how you do this and I would love to see a full month of planned meals. Do you do all of this on the computer?

    Any help would be appreciated.

Default I need to make a menu, so here's a start.

I generally make a weekly menu; as you see here, the closer-in dates are much more complete than further off.

Jun 19th - roast chicken, corn on cob, gazpacho, rolls
    Jun 20th - eat out
    21st - meatloaf, salad
    22nd - quesidilas, watermelon
    23rd - crockpot pork chops

Sun 24th - chili from freezer
    25th - chick fried rice
    26th -
    27th -
    28th - pasta, salad
    29th -
    30th -

    Sun July 1
    2 - grill burgers, chicken
    3 -
    4 -
5 - meatloaf, baked potatoes, salad
    6 -
    7 -

    Sun July 8 -
    9 -
    10 -
    11 -
    12 - pasta, salad
    13 -
    14 -

    Sun July 15 -
    16 -
    17 -
    18 -
    19 - pasta, salad

This might be easier. Here's a menu of what we actually had for dinner over a 30-day period:

    13 - ravioli
    14 - chick tacos
    15 - sausage & peppers
    16 - corned beef
    17 - Alfredo pasta
    18 - tacos
    19 - chicken cordon blue

    20 - chicken tenders
    21 - roast chicken
    22 - pork chops
    23 - pork fried rice
    24 - beef stew
    25 - corned beef
    26 - grilled burgers

    27 - leftover grilled burgers
    28 - pasta
    29 - grilled chicken
    30 - stir-fried chicken
    31 - rice & chili beans
    1 - go out
    2 - tilapia

    3 - frozen dinners
    4 - grilled steaks, tabouli
    5 - sandwiches, gazpacho
    6 - pasta
    7 - ham casserole
    8 - quesidillas
    9 - out to dinner

    10 - chili, coleslaw
    11 - taco soup
    12 - leftovers
    13 - burritos

I have noticed some patterns in our cooking/eating:
    • When we're working on projects, we like to have something easy (crockpot) or freezer meals.
    • When we have to go to town, we often eat out.
    • Weekends are usually too busy for fun cooking. A lot of convenience foods in our diet then.

I participate in a weekly meme on my cooking blog where everyone posts their family menus for the week. It's great to go read other menus and get ideas that way.

You can see my last several weeks' worth of menus on my cooking blog-- link in my signature.

I plan my menus according to our piggly Wiggly sale paper that comes in the mail each Monday. Most times they have great buy one get one free prices on their meats. I use my Greenbax points for free eggs, milk and sugar. This past week they had family packs of pork loin chops, hamburger, cubed pork steaks and chuck roasts buy one get one free, so I stocked the freezer. Next week (I've been told, LOL, I have connections) that they will have family packs of boneless, skinless chicken breasts, leg quarters, thighs and legs buy one get one free, so I will be there for those as well.
