I lived this passed year in Stockholm, Sweden however. I'll be back in New York in a few weeks to visit with family. After a month or so my husband and I are moving to the West coast - Washington state.

Technically, I am not from NY. I live in North Jersey, but I am so close to NYC that if I open the window and yell out hello...Someone in NYC can yell right back.

Be prepared at the time consuming and wonderment that went into thinking of a name of my town...
I live in West New York. Yup, WNY, NJ. It got it's name because it is..West of NYC. It confuses people most of the time and after 10 minutes of explaining that it is indeed NJ and not NY, I just give up and say I am from NY.
