New to frugal living. No idea where to start but since I may be taking a low paid job (it's something I want to do and to get rid of the current very stressful job) I need to start looking for ways to cut costs.:cowwave:
I was born in West Allis but also now live in Florida.
What part are you in?
I hope that you'll enjoy this group as much as I do. I've learned tons of new things and made several new friends. Even met some in real life while traveling with our business. Which has been truly special for me.
I 'm in the center of the state . I'm looking for a snail mail pen pals.
I work at the House of the Dove Hospice Home in Marshfield Wi ( first one that was opened in the state of WI), I'm married in the 40 somethings and have 3 kidos, ages 17,13 and 7. I have a small hobby farm and love to dig in the dirt and listen to roosters crowing for my therapy. I'm working on making my own compact hydroponic growing system for cheep , my goal is to grow salad greens and a tomatoe plant or two for winter fresh food eating, as I'm a self professed tight wad and can't bring myself to spend $3 on a bag of questionable greens from the grocer.
well thanks for the read and if your interested in exchanging snail mail give me a yell.
I live near Milwaukee and Racine but more out in the country. Was born and raised here. In the interval I lived in IL, Puerto Rico, Ecuador, England, France, and the Virgin Islands (U.S. and British.) Am now right back to my native cheeseland. Have always been frugal, and now have it somewhat perfected. I do a lot of gardening, canning, mucking about with firewood, and hanging around online. I am also very active in my community doing a variety of volunteer stuff, most recently campaigning a lot for Obama et al.
Hi! Im in Madison- but Im originally from Kohler/Sheboygan and spend some time in a little town north of Milwaukee on the lake where my parents have a home!
I'm in Fort Atkinson. Check out your local Goodwill stores. I got a brand new with tags winter coat from Land's End for $13. I LOVE this coat! Lots of rummage sales in WI during the summer too. Plus there are stores like the Restore in Madison that support Habitat for Humanity where you can get great deals on building supplies, and a lot of outlet stores for baked goods, etc. There is a lot for the thrifty in WI if you know where to look!
I am moving to Brookfield, WI when I get married in November.
