Anyone from Chicago?
I'm a life-long Chicago resident. Just wondering how many FV there might be that have either lived here or want to live here.

Hi Nadine - I'm in Chicago. Not loving this storm we're having right now, although we do need the rain. I'm going on a camp-out this weekend.
Hope to meet more nearby-FV's here!

Nadine, I live in Waukegan, not too far from Chicago. I have been living in this area for 9 years. I don't want to live around here anymore, I want a simpler life, without a commute, high mortgage and all the other stuff.
Luckily, I have a backyard and I have the opportunity to put in a veggie garden every year. It's the bright spot of our summers.

Well, it seems like I live in Chicago! Every time I want to travel somewhere (like Penn., D.C., AL., etc.,) I have to drive through Chicago. (I live in WI.)

Love reading all your comments and where you are, where you've been. I would absolutely love to move to a more rural area, less stress, lower mortgage, but I feel that my roots are in Chicago and probably always will be. And like "Andrew's Mom", our vegetable garden behind the garage is our haven in the summer also. Gives us a chance to "feel" like we're not in the big city.

I'm hoping to get my garden in this weekend. We've been so busy with our girls school, girl scout camping and working on the house I haven't even tilled it up yet.
What do you all plant?

I'm in a far west suburb. And I grew up just 1 block from Chicago's city limits.

I don't live in Chicago but went with my sister-in-law a couple of time when she had a conference to go to and I fell in love with Chicago. There are so many things to see and do. I couldn't live there due to the cost of living. There is so much history there!

WE live in the farthest NE corner of the state a little town called Winthrop Harbor we are right between Chicago and Milwaukee which is great! Right on the lake but still somewhat relaxed country living! I love it here just not the super high tax's! I really hope to meet more people from the area here on this site!

I'm a new Chicago transplant from southern California- wow, what a change! I'm in the Rogers Park area as a grad student and am doing my best to stay within my means but relocating and exploring the new city can get costly! Anyone have any favorite blogs, resources, places to go, etc. they'd like to share?
