We have another heat advisory in effect for today through Friday in my little part of Alabama...heat index ranging from 107 - 118...it's just nasty.
I honestly didn't realize the midwest suffered from the same kind of intense humidity we have here...all I can say is bless you guys...hope everyone stays cool...or as much as you can in this weather.

Our heat index hit 99 today. Very unusual for us, luckily.

DC, maybe you should think about getting at least a window AC for your living room. When it's this hot for this long, it becomes a health issue especially for older people like your FIL. Besides, it's just too miserable and if you're like me, it has a big impact on productivity. I get nothing done when it's too hot, and time is valuable, too.

The weather guy on the news said it's more humid and hot here today than in the jungle in Bangkok, Thailand. Ew. Also worse than Texas and Florida. We specifically don't want to ever live in any of those places because of the bad weather they have, so this was not happy news.

But the heat is supposed to break tomorrow and we're supposed to have a dew point around 55 and a high temp of about eighty. That'll be more like it!

    No air,no pool,no fun
We are not doing well. I sit in my car occasionally and wet my hair often but the house smells and you don't dare leave food out.
I would hang at the mall but we can't leave our new puppy.
We have no less than 7 fans running.

Gees DC...........that is really dangerous. Do you have fans running?

I have been following this on the news............it is very dangerous.

I hope EVERYONE is managing to stay cool........AND DRINKING
    LOTS OF WATER!!!!

Will I get 'stoned to death' if I tell you we only got up to 70 today? And only getting to 73 tomorrow?

Should I open up my house for everyone that is baking???
We could have an FV party!!!

We are lending our a/c to our daughter and family, because it is too hot in their house for the little ones.

The heat broke here, luckily. We're at 70, heading for about eighty, with breezy, sunny conditions and a dew point at about 55, twenty points lower than yesterday. I think it's still steamy not too far south of us though. But we're in for a picture-perfect summer day.

I hope those of you still suffering in this heat can find some relief, however and wherever you can find it. It really is dangerous particularly for those in areas where you're not prepared for it.

Yep..hot here in Ohio too. We have no A/C except in the bedrooms.~Our living room is sweltering, and I spent 2 hours in the pool after making dinner and cleaning up. Thank god for our 15 yr old pool~

DH is miserable and crabby because he's working out in this heat..and while I feel sorry for him...like don't take it out on me...Y/K?

I seriously am so over this summer here in Chicago - super warm June, super rainy spring, now super hot July. Forecast is for 90s to continue through next week. I have a summer cold and am having trouble kicking it because of the AC being on all of the time - my sinuses are sensitive to AC; but my body is hot. ARGH. I'm on vacation this week and it's just miserable - no fun outside, no county fair, etc. Do darn hot. ARGH! Already can't wait for fall - I am NOT a summer person.

There is a reason why I live in Wisconsin (cool temps). If I wanted this heat and humidity I would move far south. Though last years winter was far too long, I SO cannot wait for the wild winter storms to come. This year has been the first in many that I stayed indoors more than outdoors.

105 where I used to live in MO. 102 here in Iowa. We are blessed with great AC and thick insulation. But I keep checking on my parents, who keep wanting to turn off their AC to save money.
