Ah, right before Christmas, too.

My brother is in Iraq right now, and I hear it's a lot safer lately than hit has been in the past. Here's hoping his deployment goes by safely and quickly for you Fern.~Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.~

BTDT....We tried to keep positive and were very grateful for the communication that is available now. We got regular emails and phone calls from dd when she was deployed (both times). We also had a good support system and lots of people praying for her. I spent my time making up boxes to send, letters, email, and just counting the days. Always remember that this is what he wants to do and be proud of him!!! Also, I think the deployments are getting shorter, dd's was 18 months. (Iraq)

How proud you must be. Everything will be ok, I will keep you both in my prayers.I know how hard it is.

Please thank your Son for his service, our family appreciates his service.
As a Mom,
You can do a lot of really neat things to make the time go faster:
*Send lots of letters
*Send lots of greeting cards
*Send care packages as you are able
*Stay as busy as possible makes the time go faster
*Pray and send good thoughts his way
Take care of yourself,

Sending prayers Fern. My daughter is planning on joining the Air Force (it was going to be the Navy, but she changed her mind) and I'm sure I'll be feeling the same feelings you are before long. Hugs.

I can certainly feel for you Fern. My son is a Marine, and thank god he will not be getting deployed any time soon unless he volunteers. I have had to deal with dh getting deployed, and he may be getting deployed in Jan. of this year. I will certainly keep you and your family in my prayers.
