    Default Hi!

My husband and I are currently at MCAS Cherry Point, and it's the only place we've ever been (we just got married a year ago). I was just wondering if you have any base that you have lived that you love and any that you absolutely HATE?

We think Cherry Point is nice, but it's really small. The town CP is in is EXTREMELY small. We have to drive 20 minutes away just to go shopping. We didn't get a Walmart until last year...until then we absolutely HAD to drive 20 minutes if we wanted something that the exchange didn't have. Which btw, our exchange is so small that you can walk the whole thing in about 20 minutes...and that's if you take a long time looking at stuff. We all got excited because about a month ago we got a dollar tree and a game stop. Since then they opened a Super Cuts and a Hibbet Sports. One good thing though is that 20 minutes in one direction is the beach. I do like that.

So, your opinions on places you like and don't? We're up for a PCS in Dec, and I want to know good places to try for and bad places to stay away from.

Your going to find places you like and dislike thats the nature of the beast. Try to make the best of each place and find something about it you do like

You could always try a bit south and be at Camp Lejeune. I live by the MCAS New River and it's a really nice area.

Honestly, I loved Twentynine Palms. BUT, we lived in Joshua Tree.
I think wherever you're stationed is what you make of it. Everywhere we've been, I've been happy.
