I've been getting a little burned out knitting caps and slippers for military personnel and thinking maybe it's not worth it, or not what our troops would enjoy, but your post has renewed my energy regarding knitting for the troops.
Thanks for posting, and thanks to your grandson for his service.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I know most of them do. A lot of guys even when they are the "popular" one back home don't have anyone write to them, so they love it when they get mail.
Thanks for doing it! I know for my husband and all of his guys, mail is their favorite time of the week/day (depending on which FOB they're on).

Started a red/white/blue hat tonight!
I have to have everything ready to go by the end of the month, so the pressure's on. I wish I could knit faster. I'm one of many knitting, so luckily the troops don't have to depend on my pathetic efforts alone!
Thank you and your husband for your service.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
