Today was the day I have been dreading
Well, today I finally had to do the one thing that I have been dreading for the last month. I had to say my final goodbyes to dh. He is leaving sometime tomorrow to begin his training in Virginia and then he moves on to Iraq for the next year.
I have no clue how I am gonna get through it. I will be busy come spring, but I just don't know how I am gonna get through the days. Every little thing that I do around the house reminds me of him, and I can't even go to bed without crying because he is not there next to me.
Tonight when the boys were saying their goodbyes, ds3 cried so hard. He is taking it really hard. I had to go and give him one of dh's t-shirts to sleep in. That really helped him.
Thanks to everyone for their prayers and well wishes. It is nice to know that someone is here to hear me rant and rave when I need it.

I hope that you know that we are keeping your husband and you (and the kids) in our thoughts. Please post as often as you can and keep us posted on how you are all doing.

A friend of mines husband is over there knew when he left he would be there 12-15 months so he tore out all but 15 checks from one of his checkbooks for her to use to make there mortgage payments.
She said it goes by quicker counting the months then by counting the day's/weeks. When she uses the last check it that book he should be about ready to come home.

Sending love, hugs, prayers, & encouragement......
It doesn't get easier, you just start dealing with it better....
The kids begin to cope as well.....
I'm so sorry you're going through this sweetie - wish I could be there to just hug you & let you cry.....
I'm here for you - feel free to PM, or email me - MommeTo4@earthlink.net .....
I wish I could tell you about how easy it gets, but it honestly just doesn't - it does help to stay busy and talk, talk, talk with your boys......don't hold things in - and if they're happy cause Dad's a soldier - let them be happy, and if they're mad cause Dad's gone - let them know that it's an understandable feeling they're going to have......you'd be amazed at how quickly it goes from sheer pandamonium to a smooth running machine because everyone finally realizes that it's going to take all of us to get through.....
Keep your chin up - be proud of that man of yours! I'm proud of him too!

to you and the kids... we're all here if you want to talk or vent. My DH used to go undercover for months at a time, so Ican relate a bit (I have cried in many major airports!), but then again, we didn't have kids then. Hang in there, and like they've said above, be proud of your DH!

He was suppose to spend all the time at Eustis, but they don't have the room for them or something like that. I will keep you guys posted on anything new and exciting.
