One really cool thing about living on Post...
Things like this fly over......
And then fly over even closer.....
It's the Stealth.....
Totally cool.....
Makes living slam between the El Paso International Airport & Biggs Army Air Field not quite so bad!!

Joe would love it there. When we were living in Lumberton (about 30 minutes from Popes AF Base & Fort Bragg, Joe would rush out of the house EVERYTIME he heard a jet, helicoptor or anything flying overhead. Also he has been known to pull over and watch helicopters land and take off. When I worked at PostNet we were right beside a helipad and on the day's Joe would meet me there for dinner, he would be all the way on the other side of the lot looking at the helicopter while my lunch hour was slowly ticking by.

Too cool! I've never seen the Stealth in real life, even though my brother helped design it.

My kids would love to see those. Right now the closest thing they get to see is an occaisonal A10, but mostly helicopters. We did get to see a C130 in our area a few months ago. Since we are not really close to any major base, that was a big deal. The closest thing to a base for us is the National Guard base that is about 30 miles north.

Wow - designed it!! That's so cool!!
When we lived back east, we used to go to Andrews AirForce Base every year for Armed Forces Day....
One year they made an announcement that the Stealth was going to be on display at such-and-such hangar....
We ran down there and got a really great spot right up front, just behind the barrier....
the hangar doors open & they rolled it out - I just stood there with my mouth hanging open, I couldn't believe it!!
Finally I came to my senses & grabbed my camera & started snapping pictures....
This uniformed guy approaches me carrying an M16A2 and quite sternly orders me to "drop the camera and step away from the aircraft"
Something about a man with a semi-automatic assault rifle that makes pictures not quite so important anymore!!
Needless to say a slammed the camera down & took 3 giant steps back without even saying "mother may I"!!
Now that I'm more familiar with Junior Enlisted ranks, it turns out that this guy was a bottom of the totem pole Private & most likely had no ammunition in his weapon!
Guess it's all in the delivery, huh?!

They are such cool planes! We say one up here in Washington near one of the bases. Way Cool!
The Blue Angels used to put on Air Shows down at the Air Base (now decomissioned) that we lived in the flight path of. We could sit in our yard and watch them perform.

When we lived at Ft irwin, we saw stealth (i was told at least) and all sorts of aircraft. It kinda felt weird when i moved and didn't hear the planes and helicopters anymore.

I love the stealth bomber! It always flies over my house on New Years Day when the Rose Parade is starting. As soon as we hear it my son and i go running! It is the neatest thing i have ever seen!
We've seen all kinds of military planes flying around us, I just wish i was better as knowing what was what.

I live about 25 minutes from Westover Air Force Base, each year they have the air show and I try to talk Mike into going with me but he always has to work--this year, I want to go even if its by myself! I would really like to see the stealth bomber up close!

Wow! Pierre would love this! He loves all aircrafts!

That's neat, Debbie. All that flies over here are helicopters.

Those are SO cool! I live near Offutt AFB. A Stealth Bomber was flying over a cornfeild. It was freaky because I couldn't hear it! It was very close, a little closer than Debbie's second photo.

Bring it on Angie!!
I'm sure it's the same as it was when you were stationed here....
hot, brown, hot, sandy, hot, and it's kind of hot here now too!!
And as Kathy pointed out, that's the positives that El Paso has to offer!!
