    Default Emotional evening for us

Dh's nephew is scheduled to leave for Iraq next Sunday-- so we had a huge family party tonight. Very emotional, as neither grandparent is in very good health, my dh isn't in good health. . . . so he leaves not knowing if he'll ever see any of them again.

Lots of hugs, tears and laughter.

    Denise

I'm so glad you had that party. It makes for wonderful memories and will help your family get through your nephews deployment until he returns home safely once again.

I neglected to say that he's leaving his wife and 2 young daughters, right before the holidays

I know that others go through this all the time, but this is hard on us- as he technically wasn't IN the military anymore. He had 6 months left of his inactive duty when he got called up again.

Your dh's nephew will be in my prayers. I hate it that they have to call up the inactive reserve as well, but it does let the active duty guys go home for a while. *sigh* No easy way about it.

Denise, I'm sure it's difficult as a family to see him off, especially just before the holidays. I hope he stays safe.
