    Default Miserly Monday 6-21

Busy busy day for us! And I HAVE to spend money today.

Have to pay the cable, gas/electric, water/trash bills; make the car payment; do at least one load of laundry; take care of some veggies I picked from the garden yesterday; fold and put away two baskets of clothes that have just been waiting around for me; prep supper (I'm thinking a crockpot meal since it'll be around 103 here today ); and vaccum the living room and hallway.

WHEW!!!! Lots to do so I'd better get to it!

    Have a great Monday!
    May Goals:
Only $300 for groceries this month - $206/$300
    Monthly coupon/valued customer savings = $14.08
    No wasted food!
    Stick to budget!

It's officially summer (although the weather has been weird lately).

Today I had the morning to myself. Diva came back from the weekend at the ex's house dressed in long sleeves and jeans

We had a leg-shaving lesson today with something like Nair and a plastic bladeless razor. She did well, but giggled because it tickled. She isn't ready for a real razor quite yet.

We'll make lunch together (thinking about corndog cupcakes). I'll precook dinner before we head out tonight. The library is having a kick-off party for the kids summer reading program.

I'll keep knitting on the little Yule projects I have going and Diva will read a few chapters in her book.

All in all, a quiet, no spend day.
I can't be out of money... I still have checks left!

Lady_V, corndog cupcakes sound like fun! Is the recipe posted on here somewhere?

Today we are off and running. DD1 had bball camp at 9:00 in one town, and DD2 had girl scout camp at 9:00 in another town. Of course. So I dropped the older one off early, and then took the younger one. All the while ds was peacefully slumbering away at home. lol I tried to wake him up, but he wasn't moving.

Today ds and I are going to town for haircuts and to purchase a fishing pole for dh for a belated Father's Day present. I also need to do laundry, clean up dd's room since she got a load of toys from her babysitter, and finish mowing. I better get busy myself!

    Have an awesome day!

I am sure there is a version on here..

    Ingredients:

    1 pkg corn bread/muffin mix
    1 tablespoon brown sugar
    1 egg
    1/2 cup milk
    2 hot dogs, cubed
    1 tablespoon honey (optional)
1/3 cup whole kernel corn (optional)

    Directions:

Preheat oven to 400 degrees and prepare about 9 muffin cups (or 6 large ones)

    1. In a large bowl, combine corn bread mix and brown sugar.
    2. Combine eggs, honey and milk, stir into dry ingredients until moistened.
    3. Stir in corn and hot dogs
    4. Fill muffin cups three-fourths full and bake for 14-18 minutes until golden brown
    5. Serve immediately or refrigerate.

A little late on this but I worked from 8-4. I haven't done a whole heck of a lot since I got home. The heat at work is just draining me and it felt so good sitting in front of the air conditioning when I got home. I have put dishes and clean clothes away. I have to fix dinner, hubby will be home in about 1/2 hour. I want to do some reading and hit the hay. See you all tomorrow.
