Default Miserly Monday - Nov 14/11

Overcast yet warm day for fall here! Kinda nice if you ask me - its not snowing nor is it cold with arctic chill in the air

Was supposed to go over to my sisters today to help her shuffle things but got the cancel just as I was leaving. All of a sudden her DH has the day off - um...he didn't know he had Monday off on Friday BEFORE the weekend? Who does that?! I just feel bad b/c I bumped helping my friend for this. I try to treat others how I wish to be treated and blood-family comes before friend-family. So now I'm at a standstill trying to figure out what to do b/c I had to shift things to other days of this week.

So far, packed up DH's lunch/coffee, had my breakky, cleaned up kitchen and dropped DH at work.

    My goals for today:
    * take dad back to Costco to exchange his pants (unless he wants to do it tmrw?)
    * watch some programs / clear off PVR
    * buy dad some travel insurance
    * purge/organize for at least an hour OR two boxes
    * dig out my suitcase and pre-pack the non essentials
    * make a list of the rest of things that need to be done this week

    The rest is gravy

Today is a stay at home homeschooling day. The plan is to get as much cleaning, school, and baking for the freezer done as possible. Hopefully baby cooperates.

Decided to stay in and drink some ginger and honey tea to get rid of what feels like the beginning of a cold.

Still sorting my mother's stuff (she passed away last month). Got about an hour and a half's work done on that...more in a bit, just need a break. Tiring and emotionally draining...it's Grandma's stuff, too...she passed away in '02.

Cleared off both cars and shoveled the driveway (about 45 min work). Checked on my dad and helped him get his new cell phone charging.

Called to confirm some details on Hawaii trip for next month.

Contacted a few relatives for addresses to mail family pictures/letters to...

Took out the trash, emptied the dishwasher, made the bed, did a load of laundry.

Meeting a friend of my mom's to check to see if any of the antiques are actually valuable... Already have a load started to take to thrift store...will add to that, as needed (already chose out the keepsakes I want to have for sentimental reasons).

Planning a trip to the thrift store on Wednesday, along with other errands pertaining to my mom's stuff (getting things to the people who will treasure/use them).

Making progress! Ready for it to all be done... And the project I really don't want to face? Scanning the crap-ton of photos before dispersing them to family!!!!!

Our new fridge is being delivered Saturday. It has to come in the side door and part of that is blocked with "stuff" so I started dealing with that first thing this a.m. In the process I uncovered a stash of new canning jars that needed to be added to the pantry, so the pantry also got dealt with.

Ran 3 loads of laundry, made dinner, baked bread too.

Today I made the bed, did the dishes, made meatloaf for dinner & put in fridge for dh to put in the stove. Put the dishes away. Washed a load of darks and dried them. Washed a load of towels. Cleaned the toilet. Took the dog for a walk. Made my lunch for work. Picked up sticks in the front yard and put in the firepit. Started burning the rest of the leaves until it started to rain. uggg! Then went to work!
