Thanks Halo. What a great feeling it will be at the end of the year when we have $5,000.00. for emergencies. I'm going to lock it up and let it grow. The economy can be very scary lately and I just would like to be prepared just in case. I guess another reason I like to have the money saved is that I was really sick once and didn't have a lot of money saved.

Well, after paying off my new glasses, I've started building up the emergency fund again and am now up to $100. It's not much, but it's definitely a start!

I'd like to join this challenge too! I already have an account set up, it's one of those old fashioned pass book savings accounts that pays hardly any interest, but it gets the money out of our hands and so out of temptation!
Balance so far: $1061.58
We'll be putting in $200-275 monthly, Lord willing.

Welcome Belinda! I also have one of those old fashioned pass book savings accounts. I find it helps motivate me to have a look at it once in a while. I also find posting here very helpful.
