Yes, actually that makes a lot of sense. But it doesn't make me happy!

I'm mad! The meter says I used 23 kwh in the last 24 hours! The computer and the tv power strip were both left on overnight, and yesterday was a bad day for people leaving lights on everywhere. Very annoying. Ugh.
avg. since last bill= 20.81 kwh (I think)
last 24 hours: 23 kwh

Off to work all day today, so let's hope it goes down!DH aka Mad Hen

As of 10/16:
daily avg. since last bill= 20.77 kwh
last 24 hours= 20 kwh
Yay! Back to a normal range. Just shows you have to be diligent with those switches- especially before going to bed at night!

Okay, reading today was 57831. Divided over two days is an average of 28.5 Kw per day over the last two days. I am totally confused. I don't know why it was so low. I *did* turn off one fluorescent hood two days ago, or rather changed the timer on it so it only comes on for about 2 hours in the evening, rather than on at 6a, then off at 6p, and I didn't do any baking, but that is about it.
Tonight, I unplugged the dogs' heat lamp. It is also on a timer to come on at night, and I started using it about two weeks ago, when we had a cold snap, but it is hot again at night, so no point in running it. But tonight would not affect the last two days' readings.
Tomorrow's reading should be interesting, because today should have been pretty much identical to the last two days. If the reading is back up to 100 Kw, I'm close to giving up!!DH aka Mad Hen

Reading today was 57853. So, 22 Kw yesterday. I can't imagine those fluorescent lights used THAT much energy, but that has been the only difference. I guess I'll just have to wait and see if it fluctuates again over the weekend (typically much heavier use because I'm home, so t.v., oven, laundry, etc.)
So confused....

took a reading today. It was 82065. Averaging 19 kw over the past 3 days. Daily average since I started checking : 17.2kw / day
Madhen: I get where you're coming from. Even though my readings tend to be lower than yours, I get high readings sometimes on days when there is absolutely nothing on, no laundry being done, no baking, etc. It frustrates the crap outta me, because I can't figure out what the deal is!

Checking in!
Daily avg for the past three days: 19 kwh
Daily avg since last bill: 26.4 kwh per day --> Goal: 25 kwh per day

You know, I haven't been reading my meter every day, but maybe I should. It might show DH where we are using energy...

Reading was 57928, so 42 Kw yesterday. Weird how it dropped. I keep waiting for it to sky-rocket back up...
Did two loads of laundry yesterday and dehydrated apples and peppers.
