I am having a personal challenge to save $1500 by Nov. !st. (I have a bonus check coming which helps) The more I have thought about this, the more I would like to see just what we could save in 100 days. So I think I will modify challenge to have two parts. The first will be the Nov. 1st challenge. The second will be to raise another $2500 by 2/22/08. I do have college expenses due in January but I think we can still do this. So....time to get really serious! Terri

Wow I can't imagine trying to save $5000 in 100 days! Good luck!

I'm in for $500 in 100 days! We really don't have any money to save, but I work from home whenever I want... so if I just get up an hour earlier every morning I can make the $5 extra a day!

    Let me think.

I am so streched in between trying to get my debt gone--that will happen on time no problem there.

Also, you may have seen my one year stockpile thread challenge but then again, I am simply doing it in my current grocery budget so no extra cash has been alloted there either.

    I am stretched pretty thin.

Here is my deal, In November dd and I are getting our eyes examed. Then dd needs titanium glasses and I am going through Zinni for mine.

Then in December I have to take dd down to get her ears checked. Her hearing has gone down and it is time for an aid. That will be over $1000 for just one aide.

I don't have it and I need it.

Let me do some math--we have how many days left now??

I need to reread the first few threads and make a plan and see if I can do this.

The math never lies, budget in INK!

Amount of Free items 2012 $391.33

    Debt #2 12/31/12 CC $901.88
    Debt #3 12/31/12 $3648.83

Madness, mayhem chaos...my work here is done!

Well I would have 7 salary checks and 7 commission checks so if I wanted to do $1000. I would need to save $72 a check.

I can only try....so put me down for $1000.

First I can cash in some coins.

Second I can go over the budget--again.....

I also will probably need my money faster so I may have to drop out when it comes time to fork over the cash.

I'm in! Not $5000 but I think 2500 euros is more in my range.

So I am up for the challenge:

2500 euros -> in 100 days! Starting today October 28th.

Cricketlegs.... however you want to do it! Maybe when you are done you can try to shave off a buck here and there from everything and see what else you can save by Feb?

And wooohooo to everyone else joining!!!!!!

Ok so 18 days to go until the official first day!

Ok today I am setting up a new ING account.

I am also going through a pile of boxes. I will set aside truly useful items, and the rest will be given away or sold.

Today I am staying home and eating up leftovers.

Bad note... We need a new fridge. Our other one has finally bit the dust. So I am going to look around the scratch and dent places and get the cheapest one I can... fancy can come later.

I am avoiding a used one as one son has ANA allergies and you can never know how clean a used item is, even if I scrub it too.

I have seen a few new ones at an "overstock" store for just under $400.

We will then sell our old one for scrap, which I hope evens it out a bit. On that note I do have a pile of items to take and sell at the scrap yard.... so hopefully I will have a little cash to put in my challenge account on day one!

I am also going through each room and writing down a list of "really need", "would really like if there was an awesome sale or found it free" and "have to waits".

I dont want to be ambushed by needs or wants, and I want a big list I can put on the fridge. Then I will see if I can fix or find the needs for as little as possible, and I will have a real list incase I roll across a want here and there!

my goal is to get $2,284.68 paid off on total debt by 12/31/08. That would put me at 300K for total debt (shared with spouse so technically 150K each). I know it's going to be a challenge but I'm hoping I can pull it off. Thanks !!!
