Well my change jar is getting fuller! I think I will have the kids add it up for me as a math lesson.

So it's a tiny "cheat" that I am putting change in it ahead of time.

I need this challenge - I start a new job on the 5th and after 4 months of unemployment I can already feel the 'I want thats' coming on. I will challenge myself to save $1000 in 100 days.

Well I am going to start today.
I have been following this thread since it started and each time I think - I wish that I could do it too.
Today I thought, well what's stopping me - NOTHING!!!

I am starting today - 2,500 Euros (or as near as possible) before Feb. 28th
(This will be quite a challenge for me.)

Now I am fired up and raring to go.

I wish I could join in (but at a lower amount) but DH will be laid off from work soon and we aren't sure he will be able to get unemployment. Maybe in February we can do something.

    Good luck to you all.

Went to cash in my change today and stopped off at the store after taking dd to school and the sorter machine is down.

DD 1 had the hospital call me last night(she is profoundly hard of hearing and can't talk on the phone) asking if I would pay for $250 worth of tests. She is away at college.

She has been really really sick all year and I said yes. So I have a bill of $250 coming and then she has an appointmentfor another $250 at the eye, ear , nose doctor. She has some really rare infection in her ear.

On the up side her heart, kidneys and liver are ok. Her white cell count is back to normal--whew, and she isn't preggers and doesn't have any std(Mama then passes out, pull self back up into chair, wipes brow)but they are worried about her spleen....and still trying to find out WHAT IS WRONG with her.

This is going to cost me but I don't care and it may affect my $1000 in 100 BUT I will be working them both.

I was in the process of refunding my EF but now it looks like I will have to use what I have and then some....I will be taking another look at the budget....

It isn't eay being a Mama esp when you are trying to take care of 2 kiddos at once. I don't want one to suffer for the other.

Sorry for all the blows to your EF, Cricketlegs, but it is for a worthy cause. Hope they figure it out soon, for your sake and your daughter's sake.

Thank You. It is all part of being a Mama and also being in a life.

I am taking it all in stride and I think apart from my dds#1 health and dd #2 hearing well being I am being proactive. Getting everything done and working the money.

    This too shall pass.

I also think dh had a good month and that I figured his commissions low so I may not have any problems taking care of this stuff and getting my EF back.
