I'm going to move my budget back up to $450 for the month of March. Between DH being home all the time and extra strays showing up, I was well over my Feb. budget. This is everything (food, HBA, cleaning supplies, and pet supplies) for a family of 4, 6 dogs, and 4 cats.
It is pantry and freezer clean out month so I am shooting for $250 for fresh fruit and veg, milk, bread etc. This will take some discipline on my part. I was lazy about sales and planning in Feb and our grocery budget shows it.
January's grocery budget was $500 and I came in under that. February's grocery budget was $485 and I came in under that. So, hoping to be successful this month as well, March's grocery budget is $475.
I came right on target at $500 for February. For March I will do $485 in the spirit of grocery reduction challenge. I have a lot of stockpile in my freezer. We are going to eat a lot of it this month. I know I can do it.
Well I haven't total everything for Feb. yet but I will come in under my $300 mark for everything - as long as I don't count eating out - which I said I would.
What I'm finding is that I can get right back into the groove for grocery, HBA, pets, household, but going out to eat is doing a number on the budget even if it seems really infrequent and nowhere really fancy.
Again this month I'm going to shoot for $300 for everything and I'll split it out in my total. I should be able to hit it no problem again if I don't include going out to eat. I'll keep the second total with going out to eat and monitor this month WHEN the OTE seems to be happening and if I just want to budget for it because its more event related or if I want to knock it way down because its more lazy related. This month will be research.
February's goal was $485. We ended up having unexpected company for a while and I went over budget. We now have company again (a ravenous 19 year old) for a week so I am going to keep the budget at $485 and see how it goes.
we made our February target although we revised it 1/2 way through. I'm staying with between 600-700 as I'm building a stockpile, needs replenishing. So I need the leeway to hit sales. I also feed 10 people.
I need to get a handle on the grocery budget. I haven't been keeping track of it. I added last month's amount spent on groceries (including HBA, stockpile, groceries) and it was $363.81 for 2 people. This month I'd like to get it down to $350.00. The amount should go way down in the coming months because I'll get my stockpile built up and I start getting more comfortable with cooking.
I am setting my goal for $400 this month. This is food, HBA, and pets.
I am keeping track of my receipts this month and am going to actually us quicken to track...I have been way too lazy recently and it is showing in our budget.
I wasn't going to do my first shop until Tuesday, but we're getting a pretty significant winter storm tonight, so I went ahead this morning. Spent $92 total between 2 stores and should be set for at least a week or so.
I am going to stay at $300 for right now. I am now out of stockpiling space in the kitchen....so until I get things reorganized, and we eat down the extra stuff.....we shouldn't need to spend too terribly much this month.
(this includes everything, cleaners, foods, hba etc....)
I went for my fist grocery trip on Friday (pay day for me, so it is the start of our new month for us), and spent $82. Made an impulse trip to Walgreens and spent $60. In my defense, everything was on sale, I had a coupons for some of the item I bought, most of it was for my stockpile, and some stuff was for my mom, which she will pay me $20 tomorrow. Once she pays me, I will change my siggy to $20 less. Total so far : $142 Monthly goal: $485
I came in under for February, but not by much since they ended up having a meat sale I couldn't pass up. For March I am sticking with $300...still hoping to hit that $50 per week average for the year.
