The coupon challenge seemed to go really well this past year. How about a rerun for 2010? I keep a running total of the savings I receive from using my coupons at the grocery store. In 2009, I saved $575.52. A slight increase from the $558.82 I saved in 2008. Each week, I put this money aside in a savings account. It was surprising how much I accumulated. And there are a lot of you that do way better than myself. Saving money at the grocery store is one thing we can have some control over. Anyone want to join for 2010?
I'm in too, but this is my first 'challenge'....do you 'deduct' the 'cost' of the coupons you use, like the price of the paper you got them out of or when you bought them of eBay or such? Do things like ECBS and Rite Aid rebates go into the #s? Would love to join this, just wanna do it right! Do we post our savings in our signatures at the end of our posts, or post here with our results from time to time? Thanks!
khaski... everyone does it differently... there is no right or wrong. I just count the cents off I get at the grocery store. I do not deduct for the 'cost' of the coupons, but you can if you would like to. I only do my grocery coupons, but others add in their rebates and coupons they use when out shopping at the mall and other departments stores... Like I said, no right or wrong way, I just like to play the grocery game and see what I can save... Have fun!
Oh, and I add the savings to my signature, but I also post here when I add it.
Alot of people include rebates ( it's money off ), BOGO's ( same as a free coupon ), double or triple coupons ( all money saved ) and some store or manager specials. All of it is regardless money saved. Not everyone does it the same.
I'm in. Hopefully will be able to keep up with it. Probably post once a week as I usually go to a couple stores different days.
I would like to try this, I need to save as much as I can to pay off debt. I only shop once a month or when we go to town, so I'll post then. I would love to save $1000!
Well I'm in canada and we don't get much coupons, I might add all kinds of promotions and sales. Otherwise I might have a total of 20.00 at the end of the year.
I am wanting to participate in some of the challenges this year. THis one seems like a good one to start with since I want to stay committed to couponing this year. I usually fall off the wagon 6-8 months in. Wish me luck!
I use coupns alot but I have never tracked the actual savings, I don't think I am organized enough, but I could try. I do have to tell you about my amazing coupon savings from today.
London drugs allows you to stack coupons, it is the only store in Canada that does. I used 36.46 cents in coupons yesterday and got-
3 cans Bush's Baked beans
4 glade refills
1 glade sense and spray
5 grain Special K cereal
And a smuckers marmalade
And all I paid Out of Pocket (OOP) was 6.13 cents!
I made a trip to Walmart last night for a little file thingy to put my coupons in. I have 4 little flyers that I have not gone through, so I am ready for this challenge !!
I'm in. I tried to count last year and stopped counting at about $300. I would like to post mine as coupons and then store deals/BOGO/promotions. I will try to get it all on my siggy.
Please count me in, I'm pretty much a lurker here, but want to get involved with some of the challenges trying to get this last little bit of debt paid off so I can get a new horse Do I post my kroger card savings too or just the coupons?
Thanks
C
I am just going to post what printed at the bottom of my receipt. I am trying to limit all grocery deals at one store so I can spot when produce and meat are marked down. HBA will be wherever they are the cheapest. Today's coupon, BOGO deals, and running specials equaled $65.55. My best savings yet.
