Thread: Early retirement

My goal is to retire early as well. My plan is to do so via real estate. To me, "retire" means "stop doing a job for someone else".

When we have no mortgage debt and enough rental income to meet our needs plus to allow us to continue to buy more real estate, I'll be able to retire.
The goal is 50 - but we'll probably miss that by a few years. In retrospect, I should have paid cash for the property we have now...but c'est la vie, you can only start from where you are now.If you could kick in the pants the person responsible for your problems, you wouldn't be able to sit for a month.
Did you know that a 4 year student paying $20,000/year who finances their education graduates with over $103,000 in debt to start? But a student who works and pays cash and takes 6 years to graduate ends with $6,300 in their pocket! So much for "getting a head start by financing!"

You seem to have a great plan there Greebo! And I agree with you retirement can have different meanings to everyone. Some people might also decide be part retired which is also a good option.
