My Emergency Fund is just, well, pathetic lol But I need to turn that around. This past week, my stove died, couldn't be fixed, the ancient clunker is dead dead dead. So, will have to get a new one. Since we are doing renovations, this wasn't great timing for us. So at the end of the month I will be adding my change jar fund to my emergency fund (decided to use the monthly totals from my change jar challenge) and its anyone's guess after that how much I can for january (I'm only paid once a month - on the 28th).

My goal is to save $6,000 and I'm sticking to it, I'll make it happen regardless of the setbacks. Dbf was like "oh great, what a time to lose a stove and we don't have the money right now to buy a new one." That's when I looked at him and said "well, that's why its important to have an EMERGENCY FUND!"

Last week added $58.05! Combine that with $0.19 interest, and I'm now up to $558.24!

Opening the account this past October, I thought I would have more in there by now, but Christmas hit me kinda hard, and I let my checking get up to a steady amount, neglecting the savings. I'm ready to get back on track this year.

My son's change jar is up to over $100 and its nearly crammed full...I have a feeling that will be getting emptied into the savings account as well very soon, which will help.

I haven't been able to contribute this pay period. With Samson getting sick (major vet bills) and then the donkeys needing work (more major vet bills), I just haven't had the extra to put in. I will try to make up for it next pay period.

Payday - $300 to the EF
If you could kick in the pants the person responsible for your problems, you wouldn't be able to sit for a month.

Did you know that a 4 year student paying $20,000/year who finances their education graduates with over $103,000 in debt to start? But a student who works and pays cash and takes 6 years to graduate ends with $6,300 in their pocket! So much for "getting a head start by financing!"

I'm in for this challenge too! My goal is to get my EF up to $6000 this year. I just added $100 today, bringing it up to $2107.73. I'm hoping to add another $150 in February, and then a BIG chunk of money when I get our tax refund in March!
