We stayed within our $250 budget per month last year (includes food, cat food, hba for 2 adults and one cat) and I would like to do that again this year. So far for the next two weeks, we have spent $90. I'm hoping to spend that or less on our Jan 13th shopping trip and continue to use our stockpile, and bank the rest towards our credit card payment.

I am going to try to stuck to my allotted grocery budget of $275/week. There are seven of us with various diet issues. I source most meat and our grains tend to be pricier as we can eat gluten and I have one daughter that can't eat rice. We also have some issues with nightshades (potatoes, tomatoes, etc.), sulfites, soy, some beans, and dairy and we live in a pricier area of the country. It will take oodles of planning and preparation. I already make pretty much everything from scratch, but am planning on buying a tortilla press to save money. My wrists can't handle rolling them out and paying 3.99 for 280 g is too expensive.

I wasn't feeling well this morning so hubby took the van and shopped for me. I actually made a menu plan. He spent 109 and change so we're at 110/275 for the week. I will need to buy fruit, oats, some specialty flours and meat on the weekend. Hoping to keep it between 65 and 90 and bank the rest for a big specialty order.

I came in under last year's average for groceries
but over last year's average for health, household, and hygiene supplies.

The groceries prices on the things we buy were up. Cheese which had held it's own here when others said theirs went up did go up around 10%. Eggs were outrages this week up 30% from last week and around 50% more then this time last year.

In health, household, and hygiene I did get 6 months of trash bags, a year of hand soap, 4 month or so of laundry soap so that is probably why it was above average. Veggies and fruits like carrots, celery, potatoes, apples, and oranges did not go up in price but I'm still stocked on those.
