Well I ended up tossing that chicken breast that was in the fridge. Sucks. Also ended up tossing 2 bags of salad mix. He INSISTS on the back fridge being almost freezer cold. Destroys more food.
Used Up
Bag sliced potatoes (like hash browns that were BOGO)
1 regular potato for baked
Several red potatoes for roasted potatoes ( yeah, it was a potato night but they needed to be used so so everyone got their favorites and there's some left for me to take tomorrow for lunch)
Meat that was clearanced at the store I was in today
6 ears corn on cob
Half a red , half a green pepper & half an onion (in the sliced potatoes)
The other half of a Subway sandwich
Know there's more but can't remember.Bank of America is THE godfather of Hell with Wells Fargo running neck and neck. When the world ends the only things that will be left are cockroaches, Walmart, Wells Fargo and Bank of America. Not necessarily in that order. The order remains to be seen.

More waste. One complete head of lettuce and one head that I only used a tiny bit of. I haven't been able to push the produce out since DH's been gone. I'm betting that cucumber I have in there is about to go bad as well but I haven't checked it.

UGH! I have a cucumber in the back fridge too. Forgot about it. Bet we can toss them together. Produce is my biggest loss.
Tossed today
A very few of the leftover roasted potatoes & about 1/3 cup of the sliced potatoes from yesterday.
Also remembered another thing used from the fridge yesterday...a ziplock with leftover pizza, 2 pieces
Today used
1 container soft cream cheese
4 ziplocs chicken ( 2 different meals)
1 red pepper & 1 green pepper
1/2 onion
rest of a container of salsa the kid brought home from an outside meal
About a cup+ of shredded mexican cheese
4 flour tortillas
Made homemade chicken enchiladas for the first time. Made WAY to much so will go in the fridge. Made 4, ate 2. Other 2 for lunch tomorrow or 2 days. Have enough left probably for another 10 at least, maybe a dozen. No complaints here. They were GOOD! Only thing missing was yellow rice which I might fix the next time.Bank of America is THE godfather of Hell with Wells Fargo running neck and neck. I'm late to the party, but I need badly to do this. I was doing really well until the end of last August when my work schedule went you know where in a hand basket. That lasted until Christmas, and it's been intermittently bizarre this then. I just learned a few hours ago that this week has come unglued too. I think it will settle down soon, but for now, it's leading to lots of wasted food, and way too much fast food. It's past time to get it all together again.
Today was good. I made soup and used up:
-- some French dip broth from Arby's, that I shouldn't have had to start with!
-- about half a jar of (chicken?) gravy I had frozen
-- about 1/4 jar of spaghetti sauce
-- some drying out baby carrots
-- some more baby carrots I rescued from a huge work vegetable tray
-- the last tiny bit out of a ketchup bottle
-- the end of a bottle of Italian dressing (it's great in beef soup)
However - later tonight or tomorrow I've got to clean the fridge. What I know I'll have to toss without even looking, that far outweighs the bits I used up, is:
-- a whole bell pepper and part of another
-- TWO heads of lettuce - romaine (a crime) and iceberg
-- about half of a huge chicken breast
-- a bowl of the last soup, and that's something I never waste
-- whatever is in those two containers in the back corner
I'm sure there will be more.

Welcome DCompton!
Niko, my cuke was fine. I've been munching on bits and pieces of it all day. I can't let it go bad now that I know it's still good. Cost me $1.99 at Publix!
Did have some more seriout tossage this morning. A cup and a half of milk, a whole glass of orange juice and a chicken breast. The milk was on its way out and I've got another half gallon in there that will only be good for another week...I'd freeze it if I had the room. As for the orange juice, I'm sick and it's messing with my taste buds. It tastes like battery acid to me so I dumped it and I tried a new chicken recipe a few days ago. Not sure if it's my taste buds or the recipe but I didn't like it at all so no sense in putting it in the freezer.

I need to be in this challenge as well. I am usually not too terribly bad about using things up; but, it seems that lately using up the food supply is not going well. I came down with a stomach bug of some sort Sunday night so I have been at home for 2 days and am now really conscience of what is in the fridge and freezer and pantry. Yesterday I threw out some egg salad and deviled eggs leftover from oldest dd's baby shower that was 9 days earlier. I don't like keeping things with eggs and/or mayo in them really longer than 4-5 days so they got tossed. It was not alot; maybe 4-5 eggs and a cup of egg salad but I didn't want to take the chance. I finished up the last two apple slices in the pkg in the fridge and dh had a homemade TV dinner of leftovers that I had made up several days earlier and put in the freezer. I need to look in the fridge and finish my inventory shortly. Until then....... Oh - thanks to whoever started this thread and to everyone else for keeping it going!

I did look in the fridge a bit yesterday in the late afternoon. I had three container full of those packets of condiments everyone seems to bring from wherever they ate lunch and/or dinner. There were also about 6-8 just laying around so I did a check on them. Most of these were trashed because when I checked the expiration date some were out of date by almost a year. Some of them did not have expiration dates so I had to think back to when they might have been brought in and I realized I had some of those packets from months and months ago. They were tossed as well. I am now down to one container that has 3 Asian sauces and 3-4 Taco Bell sauces in it. That certainly opened up some space in my fridge. I have to really watch myself as I have a tendency to be a hoarder when it comes to food. I still need to look through a couple of more spaces!
