Default 12/31/12 Debt Busting Year Track Your Journey

I've started this thread for anyone who has made a goal to pay off a certain debt(s) by the last day of the year to keep us focused, to aid and add encouragement and to allow us to toot our own horn as we get closer to our personal goals.

There are no rules here. We aren't following D Ramsay baby steps to the T. Most of us will be modified DR or not even DR at all.

The DR 12/12/12 project thread can be found in Debt Management in the DR room if you are looking for a more structured debt thread.

So, in February I will pay off the camper, a credit card and start on the $3800 CC (blech gork ack!) for this year. I hope to do more but I will be increasing my savings at $600 a month also so unless some money shows up with dhs new position this is my plan.

12/31/12 will see 3 debts gone and savings increased.

    So..who is next?

    Great idea.

In February, I will pay off AmEx CC

In April, I will pay off our car loan.

This is the year that, HOPEFULLY, I feel a huge weight lifted off my shoulders.

Those 2 bills are huge to me, but I see the light at the end of the tunnel. I just hope it's not the train!

Same goal as in the other thread.... STAY 100% debt free, and save my 3 month fund.

Just dribbles here and there, but as long as the money is going in, and not out, I won't complain
I can't be out of money... I still have checks left!

I won't have my house paid off by the end of the year ( about 3) but I'll be glad to track the extra we pay It's now getting an extra $700.

    So $700 for January.

Not sure that I can pay my one credit card off by Dec2012 but I plan to put $200 on it every month. That should take care of a big chunk of the balance.
I also set up auto deposit of $50 to my emergency fund.Talking to DH about that is like talking to the wall.

Not getting the debt paid in a year has no bearing on this thread. We are talking about the journey and how we are getting there and putting our best step forward toward that goal.

I plan on paying off several doctor bills (3-4) off totaling around $2000, hopefully by May. I also plan on saving up an extra $500 on my car. It isn't much, but that is my goal for now. Hopefully I can revisit that goal and increase it soon.

I sold about $100 extra stuff on Facebook yard sale sites in Jan. Our baby will be off the expensive formula within a month! Hoping all these will help!
