There's only 16 days til 2013. What goals did you not get finished this year, and what do you think you might yet get done? And what do you plan to do next year?
I hopefully we will get my pantry filled in by the end of the year. I needs a lot of organizing.
My Ddog needs knee surgery but I have been medicating him and making him take it easy so I can help him recoop w/ full attention after. (6 months healing time-we already did the other knee)
organizing the file cabinet before tax time.
Making some cookies
Getting the hair done/cut/dyed whatever
I didn't get some of my goals met from various other challenges here on FV, so I will be rolling some of those projects over to their respective 2013 challenges.
I hope to do better with the Use-It-Up challenge and continue to limit the amount of new projects I take on while working to complete UFOs around here and use up materials I have on hand.
I'm hoping we can actually complete twenty projects next year in the Twenty Wishes Challenge.
In general, I hope to do better managing my time and getting more done.
well since there is only a few days left of the year.
I would like to reorganize my freezer and pantry..really can not spend any money on it now....making do with what I have this month and next....
use my drying racks more since the mountain of laundry is withering away..
reduce my electric and gas/water use..
stay caught up on bills
menu plan
get my cookies and candies made and my homemade gift bags of goodies done.
so this is doable for me this month and probably most of next....
I didn't accomplish a lot of goal I set out with in January, but I did accomplish a lot this year.
Went through marriage counseling, and doing better than ever.
Gave birth to a second child.
Fully funded my ROTH for 2012 in 2012 (rather than using the 4 extra months in 2013, like I usually do).
Paid off 2 cars.
Got more work on the house done - fixed up the dining room and tore down the unsafe deck we had.
Got oldest DS on medication and into ABA therapy.
For the rest of the year, I am going to re-fi the house. Closing date is 12/27/12. I also want to work on an email and social media plan. I have a lot of email addresses and I'm using different ones for different things, plus I use Facebook for some things and Twitter for others, etc - so I want to make a plan to de-clutter the extra accounts I don't use and make sure that I do use the ones I'm keeping.
For next year, I don't have any specific goals yet, but I want to work on my parenting skills and my fitness level. I need to start exercising and eating healthier, and I'm having a hard time parenting my older son. He has autism, and that presents it's own challenges - navigating the school, the doctors, therapies, etc. I want to be a better parent to him, especially now that I'm also juggling his baby brother. This past year I've been pretty focused on my marriage and my career, but I want to change direction for 2013.
Goals for 2013 would be...to keeping pay down the house while saving for cabin, keep spending in check, watch the grocery budget, and learn more ways to save money.
my goals for next year:
1. one month of all of expenses put away in case of sickness ( I know we need more but start small)
2. Put away some money for hubs and I to have a weekend trip..he really wants to go some where...
3..stockpile and stockpile at least a six month supply of food, pets supply, hba, cleaning, laundry, and paper/ plastics...
so hopefully by next Dec I will be in much better shape.....
For the end of this year I just want to get my house in order. Goodwill drop off's and finish decluttering. As for next year I have a big list in my eyes.
Finish out a healthy pregnancy,
Increase my business so my dh is able to leave his job and join me.
Refinance house. In process now. Will save us about $350/month
Build up a 3 month er fund
Remodel daycare
Carpet the upstairs
Have son start looking at colleges
2013:
- more communication with the kids and grandkids
- handle whatever life throws at me
- live within my means with an ever-decreasing income
- spending much more time crafting with my supplies
- sewing: my wardrobe alterations and essentials, mainly
- using the stockpile and all my resources in order to keep from spending money
- distancing myself from the stores and businesses where I used to spend more money
Every dollar I earn, or don't spend now, is 1 more dollar to keep me going till my retirement...6 more years.
Goals for 2013
* learn to can (this scares me a bit!)
* learn to knit
* have a bigger garden....we have plans for this
* finish paying for DD's braces
* take a family vacation
* keep up with going to the gym, I have been doing well in 2012 and want to continue
* fully fund 2013 Roth's for DH and myself
* add some $$ to the kids 529's
So many things....
Helping hubby find a full time job will really help all things that we need to do..which includes finishing our remodel on our trailer.
I want to start a seedling/vegtable/herb business from my home. I am going to grow them anyway, why not grow extra to sell.??
We need to really curb our eating out...I like my cooking better anyway.
Need to convince hubby that that extra $20.00 needs to be saved not spent..
I find that if I challenge myself everyday with a new list,...I have more success!!
Good luck to everyone!
I went through my 2012 goals and embarassed to say that I met only one of them. ONE! out of 10. sad
The reasons i didn't succeed is ~ I did not have my goals in the forefront. I wrote them and never thought about them after that.
This year, I plan to:
Set small goals to achieve the larger goals. Baby steps to reach the big step.
Review the goals at least weekly but no less than monthly and make adjustments as needed.
Set reasonable, achievable time specific mini goals so that I could actualy reach them and feel good about myself.
Set some reachers so I can push myself.
With that said here are my 2013 goals.
Pay off my cc debt. That's a reacher, but I'm willing to push for it.
Size 8. That's 3 sizes smaller. I'll start with size 12 by spring. size 10 my summer and size 8 by fall. I posted in another thread how I will achieve this.
Ski the blacks at our local mountain. I'll start the year by skiing the greens to warm up. Ski the blues by Feb, then try one black in march.
Create more spirituality in my life. I will do this by reading some inspiring books to send me in the right direction. I don't know what they will be - I will know it when I see it.
Yoga. Restart yoga. there is a yoga at my work that does yoga during my lunch hour. I'm going to join that if the budget allows.
Take 4 classes at college. One in the spring, one in the summer and two in the fall.
Sell off as much excess as I can. My basement is getting over crowded.
Well there you have it ladies... my 2013 goals. I will post updates as I go along.
Cheers!
