Most of them consist of finding ways to not spend, not waste this, not use up any of that...
Well, then - how about a challenge of More
~ huh ??? :yeah:
Ok people, peel yourselves back down off the roofs.... you know I would never ask you to do anything detrimental to your frugal little selves.... now, would I ????
No.... of course not.... :hand:
This challenge that I speak of - is meant to provide you with More.
More what ?????
Go ahead and sit down - you are going to like this one.... :cowwave:
Ready.... :couch: ..... here goes....
More, More ..... ~~~ Money
:dancing::congrats::dancing:
..... Yippee .....
But how, you ask.
Easy
It's a challenge, remember...
I challenge each and every one of you to come up with creative (and not so creative) ways of boosting your budgets.
This is in addition to your current regular sources of income (be it a paying job, social security, pensions, trust funds, sugar mama's & papa's) - whatever it is you have been doing to get yourself by up to this point.
I hereby challenge you to look for more ways to bring $$'s to your pockets.
:fdance:
Here are some ideas to get you started:
Have a garage sale
Sell on EBay, Craigslist, Etsy, Amazon, etc
Grow a garden, sell your veggies
Learn a new craft, sell your wares
Use the craft knowledge you already have, sell those wares
Take surveys on the internet
Find other paying 'tasks' on the computer
Deliver pizza's, the newspaper, your neighbors groceries
Cut grass, do odd jobs, run errands
Babysit some kids, an older person, someone's pets
Clip coupons, only buy items that are on sale (then pocket the savings)
Barter for goods/services - (then put a street value to your savings)
And the list goes on and on, only limited by your imagination.....
(I would try to give you more - but hey, I got some monies to earn....)
Then - we want you to share your successes with the rest of the group - right here in this little 'ole thread.
Are you ready...
:nails:
Are you up to the challenge ????
I did a $1.00 survey so I could post here
I don't know if that 20 minutes of my time giving opinions on pizza places was worth it...
I have accumulated over 8 dollars on the site and need $30.00 to request a check, might change my mind when I see the $
But see - it's working!!!
Maybe you won't want to do another survey - but this opens the door to other avenues...
What else can you do to make a buck??????
WTG ~ :yippee:
They provide childcare, pet sitters, elder care, etc
I signed up about 6 months ago - have had a few inquiries about full time child care, but I only want nights/weekends/and an occasional sitting here and there.
I really want the petcare - but being in a remote place, there aren't too many jobs available.
Picked up $26.08 from a clothing consignment store where I sold some items
Farmers Market was a total bust today - earned $30 (in the cold wet rain the entire morning) - the shoppers were obviously smarter than the 1/2 of the vendors that showed up
Picked up my check from the grocery store (a few hrs helping out last Sat) - $39.32
I made a about 30 cents last night while doing my online surveys. It is up to about $18 and I can withdraw the money when it reaches $25.
I also withdrew some money l lent to a micro-lending organisation. It is similar to a charity, except you lend the money to the people who wish to borrow to expand their business (mostly in developing countries). I lent about $300 dollars in the past and then I had another view on it all (ie. I think debts are bad whatever shape they come in). So I have been withdrawing my money each time it is paid back. (I give to other charities now and not lend).
I am a Mail Decoy for Hausernet
Every piece of mail that I enter into the database pays me .25
(It's decoy mail - not my regular mail) - it can be anywhere from 5-20 pieces a week
The database takes about 30 seconds to enter (name addressed to, date, condition, sender, any notes) - that's it
I just entered 2 pieces from yesterdays mail. That's 50 cents - (or a lotta money by the hour - lol)
They pay me once a month thru Paypal.... (avg's about $20-30 a month) - though around the holidays it's a lot more because of all the special flyers coming out
Another bonus - sometimes I actually want to read the stuff (one of today's pieces is Entertainment Weekly - I get those every week to enter) - unfortunately - I don't like the mags, coz I am not a 'celeb junkie'.... But I get a lot of interesting catalogs to read & lots of sales flyers for places like Kohl's, Victoria's Secret, etc... (just think if I actually bought anything).... could be dangerous....
I needed some sun screen and our local CVS had a 40% off sale, so I saved $4.62. Now I won't really need for another week, just grabbed it while I could pocket some savings!
I like the idea of this thread and will have to put my thinking cap on like MM. I do have some items I could sell and working some overtime could be possible as well. Will have to look into some more ideas.
I did not leave work early, but found other things to do until my shift was over. I need every penny!
Dinner out of the freezer, and ate some of the hoagie buns before they got freezer burn. Now to plan our dinner tomorrow....
I get points for this to exchange for merchandise, instead of $$'s -
But I scan the barcodes of items that I buy with a handheld scanner for a company.
I just got around to getting all the DG purchases scanned from last week.
Did a grocery store mystery shop today - got $15 in free groceries
(I tend to splurge a little on DH's junk when it's not my money - lol
Had a coupon for $5 off $15 purchase @ CVS - (that's better odds than DG coupons)....
So with the sale price items I saved $23.96
Coke on sale from $1.99 to .88
Cereal on sale from $5.81 to $1.99
(not that I would have ever spent full price on these items to begin with).....
The other items were all from their $1 rack
So in essence - I got 33% off everything today (even after sale prices)....
so are the lines on my face ~ I can almost connect the dots .... hahahahaha..............:toast:
