Exclamation 2006 - Debt reduction challenge

Okay ladies, another challenge for 2006. Let's see how much debt we can get rid of in 2006.

Our goal is to have the van paid off in 2006.

    Anyone game?

I need to be in this. . . I didn't do so well in 2005

I'll have my car paid off this year. . .in Sept or Oct.

Need to get serious about getting some of the other bills paid off too.

We have managed to accumulate some debt this year. We are going to focus on paying it off and the rest down as much as possible.

    So count me in!

Count me in...I have a bunch of bills on the table...not sure what they all total or which to pay first but I'm set to figure that out this week!

Paying off the car this year would be great, we owe just over $4,000 on that!

    I'm in.

I want to pay off a bunch of smaller loans and credit cards so I can start snowballing that towards the bigger things.

First up: About $1200 worth of cement from December when we poured the house walls.

Second: A really stupid little loan on a recliner of all things. Argh!

It's gonna hurt like heck but I want both done by the end of January. Will probably end up using the $$ accumulated from my checking account change.

    I'm in!!!

I'd like to get rid of my store c/c debt. It is in the amount of about $1800. I work for the company and we have to "dress the brand" so it makes it tough not to buy. I'm surrounded by temptation 40 hrs a week.

I would like to be in on this. I'm not sure what I need to do or how to report things or whatever, but I'd like to learn. I also have lots of bills I want paid off this year. How do I get started?

I am in. I will have basiclly one c.c to pay off and a personal loan that I want to get paid off in the year 2006. I have done better than what I thought this year. I have managed to get 2 paid for this year. Which was a huge weight off my shoulders. I am pretty proud of myself. But that is the only 2 things that I have left. The personal loan is around$3,300 and the master card is over $4,000. I am going to try my best to get those two paid off this year. Good luck to everyone else.

Deb, just pick a debt you want to pay off. You can post the amount here (if you want). Each time you make a payment or add extra $$ to that debt, you post it here. You'll get a lot of encouragement and cheering when you do that.

Nice to see so many joining. My focus this year is going to be "frugal to the core, debt no more". I know we can't pay off all the debt considering dh only works part time jobs, however it's going to be a very tight year here. I also want to have fun during the year so it could get really interesting.

Deb, we also have monthly challenges here. I start one the beginning of each month and then we post how we found the extra cash to make that amount over and above our monthly payment. Watch for January's in the next couple days.

I am in! I want to pay a personal loan amount of 3072.00 and 1 cc balance of 4263.00. I owe lots more but need to concentrate on this first. We have been hit with a higher payment on a CC thanks to new debt laws, plus an additional high amount in prescriptions and much higher utility bills so this will be a real challenge for us. Keep posting folks. I need all the information, support and encouragement that I can get with this one!
