Don't forget the golden rule of saving money . . .

    PAY YOURSELF FIRST!

That means as soon as you get paid you put some money into your savings account, before anything else!!!

We have $2500 in the EF! Dh is calling it quits for now and throwing all the extra directly on the mortgage. We'll still put the base amount of $100/mth. in the EF, but the end of the mortgage is so close, dh can smell it. So can I.

Well, as I think I told you, I used our emergency fund to get our foyer finally tiled. It was well worth the investment. I have such a better feeling about the house when I walk in now!

Now I am on maternity leave and have no income, but I did start piano lessons again yesterday, so I have started the fund again. I will only be able to add a little at a time, but I think it's really important that wee have somethingxtra put away, especially since one of us is already out of work.

So, I've now got $25 in my EF. It's not thousands, or even hundreds, but it's half a tank of gas if need be!
