November Grocery Challenge
I'm aiming for $200 again this month. And I already spent $41 at Aldi yesterday. DH is going to be away for most of the month so my grocery bill should stay pretty low.

I still have quite a stockpile leftover from September, especially with the meats I found on sale in October. I am working on my list of things we will need to get through November. I am going to aim for $300 this month - for basics we could do it for $250 or less, but I want a cushion to stockpile some of the holiday stuff that goes on sale around Thanksgiving.
This is for a family of six (one an infant on bre@stmilk) and includes diapers (for 3

I'm hoping to stay under $100. It'll be extremely tough since we have 3 adults and 2 children. My dh's bosses wife just gave us 12 HUGE Amish raised chickens so our freezer is full!! I love chicken and since there are soooooooooooo many things you can do with chicken, I don't think we'll have to purchase too much in the line of meat. I also do have a beef roast, pork chops, and ground beef in the freezer.
The hardest part is that we have really been trying to incorporate a lot more whole foods into our diet. Whole wheat bread and fresh fruits/vegetables are spendy!
Wish me luck, I'm gonna need it!!!
Groceries so far: $5.78/$100

I'm shooting for $200 again this month. I came in way under last month but both my parents were out of town one week and I was sick for two weeks which really cut down on the amount of food consumed.
It ought to be a real trick this month though with the change in diet. We'll see how well I do.

I am aiming for $200.00 again this month, 2 adults and a sixteen year old boy who eats a lot. LOL Haven't had too much luck keeping track of what is spent here cause my husband picks up a lot of the groceries as he is by the grocery store every day and it is handy for him to run in and grab something we need. This month I am trying a new tactic, I put the $200.00 in an envelope so hopefully that will allow me to keep better track of it.

I am in for $200 this month. I went over budget last month. I spent $11.52 at Super Walmart yesterday for fruit and some deli turkey breast.
I do cook Thanksgiving dinner, for just the three of us, and my mom and step-dad. My mother usually gives me about $20-25 to help with the cost of food for the meal. I try to buy almost all of the ingredients on sale, or use from my stockpile.Last edited by i.m.cheap; 11-02-2006 at 09:58 AM.

I'm aiming to keep my groceries at 300 dollars. This is for paper products, etc. However, we give DS a seperate 'baby money' fund in the budget for his clothes, food, and formula. We will not have to buy diapers for a long time since we received about 800 free pampers!

Trying Again !!!
This time I am going to aim to be under $200 again. Out of this I spent $29 yesterday at Kroger for milk, bread and some veggies and fruits. About $15 of that I spent was for fruits for DD's Halloween party at her school. I have to really tighten up my "grocery" belt this time. Hope I get it in this fourth month "Grocery Challenge" attempt of mine.
Wish me Luck

I'm in for $100.00! I can actually eat for less than that (I spent 83 last month), but I am hosting thanksgiving dinner and need to buy the turkey and salad fixings, and I really should eat more fruits and veggies.

I am going to try for $300.00 again this month. I went over by $50 last month, but I found some great deals. I am stocked up on a good bit and as of right now I have enough food to feed all four of us for atleast 20 straight days all 3 meals from home and still have a good supply of basics left.

I guess I'll jump in here and join you all this month [and hope I remember to keep track so I can update. *lol*]
This month I'm gonna try to keep mine under $75.00.
Now, this is just for 1 person and I do have things on hand but also want to stock up a bit since bad weather is coming.
Love,
Jennelle
P.S. Since this is for November, I'd best add that I spent $2.22 yesterday on groceries.
