April 08 Grocery Challenge
I didn't see one of these started yet, so here it is.
I haven't been participating in the monthly grocery challenges lately because I know in the back of my head I'm still attempting to hold to an unrealistic number for us with the way prices have continulusly gone up. This will be the do or die month for us.
I'm shooting for $250.00
for two adults, two bottomless pits, 2 dogs, 1 cat, and some fish. this includes all household and hygiene stuff as well.
Hope I make it ..... otherwise I have to admitt defeat.

Count me in, I don't figure I did too bad for March considering it was my first shot at it!!! I'm going to stick with $300 for the month, that's for 3 adults & 3 pets (2 cats & 1 dog). Not to mention all of the extra people I feed throughout any given month.

I went to the store yesterday, with cash in hand, to start my April shopping. I've decided that if I can't keep up with my receipts and food totals, that I'd just get an envelope and stick the month's food money in there. Hopefully, that will help me stay on track. I've spent around 55.00 and have got groceries and a m enu plan for the next two weeks.

I'm in again. I'm excited about April. Each month in 2008, I have challenged myself to a grocery budget of $500. This includes pet food, cleaning supplies, H & B and our food for 2 adults and 2 teenagers. I have busted each month, but have also made improvements each month. In January, I was over by $93.81. In February, I was over by $40.06. In March, I was over by $18.86. I believe I will make my goal of $500 in April.

I'm going to try again this month. I went over a bit in March. In April, I'll try again for $400, this includes groceries, pet food / supplies, H&B, cleaning / paper, general household for 2 adults, 2 children, 5 dogs, and 3 cats.

I'm trying again this month!! I did a inventory of the freezers and pantry and won't need a lot! Our local Farmer's Markets start up in the next week or so too so I will buying as much produce from them as I can! I'm going to budget $200 for the month........I know we have more than enough to get through the month so this should work out!!

I'm going for $350. I should also have some really good rebates coming in as well

I will take another stab at staying under $400 for April. I have gone over the last two months, and with the price of diesel fuel now $3.99 a gallon, I expect we will be seeing even more price increases at the grocery store.
The grocery ads and the coupons just don't seem nearly as good as they were a year ago. I am sure I don't have to remind anyone how much milk and eggs have gone up!

Ok, I'm going to try. I figure if I go bust it will show me where I need to make improvements. Plus I'll be more likely to keep track if I participate. I'll try $500.00 for two adults, 2 teenagers, and six dogs. This includes all food items (school lunches, eating out, etc.), H&B, toiletry items, and cleaning supplies. Oh, and dog food and treats.

I am going for $225 for the month-including the dog's food. I have been planning the meals for the past couple of weeks and it has made such a difference.

I am in for 400 for the month including cat and dog food. Perhaps this will help me spent a bit less on doggie treats!
If I come in under the 400, I will add half to debt and half to the couch fund
Barb
January $$$$$ Goals
Grocery challenge 400.00/0
Menu planning - 5/0
Christmas 2013 50/0
Spring landscaping fund 100/0
Vacation fund - Boston 100/0
Time Goals
Home Project Organizational Challenge - Pantry cleaned out and organized
Clean and organize under bathroom sink
UFO January - one baby bib done. Continue on pillow cases
Every little tiny bit helps to get rid of that debt
