FO: Pomatomus Socks
I do believe this is the longest time it's ever taken me to complete a pair of socks!! I started these around the end of April and finished them last night. But in my defense, I only did them while waiting.... waiting for the kids to get out of school, waiting at drs/dentist/eye dr appts, etc.
Info for the knitters:
This is a good representation of the actual color.
Yarn: Lime & Violet Sasquatch "M Class"
Needles: Knit Picks size 2 Harmony circs
Method: Magic Loop
Began: April 2008
Finished: July 2008

Wow! That leg pattern is.....wow. Seems like that would be a hard one to start-and-stop like when you pick it up to work on whilst 'waiting'. I would get lost. Hats off to you, YankeeMom!
Beautiful!

I went through lots of post it notes and pencils to mark my spot. It wasn't too bad to put down & pick back up. The pattern looks intricate, but once you get going it really make sense.
This was my second attempt at using a chart. I don't like charts much because I hate looking down at the chart then up at my work. But this one, like I said, once you got going it was easy to memorize big chunks & knit away before having to look back at the chart again.
You can find the pattern here:

that's me too--post-its and pencils.
I was just looking at a VERY intricate jacqaurd(sp?) design the other day that said it was a 'more than one bottle of wine' design.
I thought "THAT'S what my knitting's missing! Intoxication!"
I'm not sure what it would look like, but it would keep the frustration factor down a mite. Never know--might look BETTER.
I also am not wild about charts. I'd rather have 10 pages of row by row instructions than trying to keep on the right row with a chart. ('Der).....______

Thanks! Cookie A's patterns have been mocking me for a while now. It was the whole chart thing. But it really wasn't that bad. Once you get a few repeats into it, it starts to make sense. I never really memorized the pattern, but I could tell where I was by what I had just done and what was supposed to come next IYKWIM. It made it easier when I didn't have to keep looking down at the chart.
The most difficult part (for me) was when the chart shifted a bit and wasn't a regular square or rectangle shape. Oh and remembering not to do twisted knit stitches on all the rest of my knitted items after I finished these socks. That's a whole lotta ktbl!!

I'm thinking of making normal socks, with maybe some pomatomas borders. Someday.
