I crochet lap afghans for the hospice program at a local hospital. They also have an abused children center that could use them. But for the present, I'm earmarking what I do for hospice.
I like the idea of the wheelchair bags. I'm going to look into that.Donna

I used to crochet for the local children's hospital picu, and will go back to it once i'm caught up again. Also Lullabye League of the catholic church. Generally do a few afghans too, and layettes for specific needs or baskets for fundraisers.

I wish there were more hours in the day for crafting. I haven't done charity work, yet. I've been thinking about it because I love helping others. However, I am going to crochet a prayer shawl for a friend in dire need of some help right now. Then I'll figure out what I can do the best with for charity. I'm trying to get stuff done for Christmas gifts and a whole host of other projects. I lift my hat to all of you who do the charity work.
Projects in Progress: quilt, bathroom rugs, knitting dishcloths
Future Projects: finish baby doll (clothes & hair) for DGD, rag rug, table napkins
New Challenge for Myself: crochet items for the homeless

We have many homeless people in our area. I knit scarves and keep them in the car. When I see someone in the library I like to give them a scarf and remind them that God cares.

Yes, I make blankies for sick and displaced (foster) children. Through the Linus Project and through our county services also.
Usually knitted, but sometimes I quilt them.
Contrary---I hear ya, about time enough in a day. I'm retired, but still -----with 30 nieces and nephews and THEIR little babies coming up ----plus the things I want to knit for my own family---I barely have time.
I try to fit a charity item in between each of my own projects.______
